Welcoming our New Summer Intern – Matteo Ponzini!
We are pleased to welcome Matteo Ponzini to Kogitas as one of our two summer interns. Matteo has joined the Service Delivery team where he will work on a mixture of both internal and customer related projects.
Matteo is currently studying Economics and Accounting at the University of Bristol and is looking to start his final year in September. As part of our continuing commitment to supporting young adults in starting their careers we were pleased to offer Matteo the opportunity to have a summer internship at Kogitas.
When we asked what he expects to gain while working for us, Matteo replied
“… I believe the skills I am acquiring throughout this internship will aid my studies progressing through to my third and final year at university, as well as into future roles in my career. My communication skills have been expanded, even during the pandemic and having to work from home; organisational skills and time management abilities have improved drastically in my short time with Kogitas. The work is challenging and is vital to the fundamental workings of the business, something that is of high importance to myself.”
Matteo has been working on some of our current projects, learning about the software development life cycle and the planning of release cycles. Also, he has been performing System Integration testing by checking the functionality of the applications against requirements as well as smoke and regression testing. Using the Atlassian product JIRA to test tickets, raising any issues or defects along the way, he has been able to obtain good exposure to all aspects of the software development life cycle on a daily basis.
Lee Marshment, our Senior Quality Assurance Analyst, commented that
“… he has been contributing to project progression by taking on all tasks with enthusiasm and produced high quality work consistently. It is a pleasure to have Matteo onboard and we hope that the exposure to a working environment, where change can happen fast, where time-management skills and the expectation to deliver quality work each day is expected, will give him valuable insight he can take forward and apply in any future roles he may wish to pursue.”
In his spare time he likes to explore new places with great food and music. He’s an impactful prop forward in his local rugby team, and in addition, he’s also a passionate football supporter.
Welcome to the team Matteo! We hope that you will enjoy your time with us and gain useful skills and knowledge over the summer period!
