We are excited to introduce Matthew Broom who has joined the Kogitas Team as the Head of Delivery. With 17+ years of experience in the IT industry (of which the last 12 years were working with Oracle E-Business Suite) we believe that he will be a great additional to company.
Originally from the Isle of Wight, Matt studied in Southampton and graduated in 2003 from Nottingham Trent University with a BSc Honors degree in Business Information Technology. That year he joined Total Recall (UK) Ltd as a graduate developer where he obtained his initial business exposure to Oracle databases and PL/SQL. He then worked at Virgin Media as an Oracle Developer before moving to the National Trust.
During his six years at the Trust he led the Oracle E-Business Suite CRM Development Team which provided a mixture of in-house BAU support, Project Delivery, Release Management, Testing and QA. During this time he implemented a move to Agile delivery for the EBS development team and was instrumental in delivering key aspects of the IT focused SSP program. This was also where he first crossed paths with Kogitas as we were engaged to perform the monthly Functional Releases in July 2016. This service then expanded to included team ‘augmentation’ in 2018, BAU support services from late 2018, and most recently development services in 2020.
For the last two years Matt has been working with Unite Students as an independent Oracle Consultant working on a number of projects focused on their Oracle E-Business Suite and Booking Systems. This is another organisation where he worked closely with Kogitas as we have been delivering a mixture of project change and BAU services at Unite since 2013 on both their Maintenance and Booking systems. So, when he joined Kogitas in July he was already a familiar face having worked with Mihael Horvat, Saša Miletić and Goran Kuzmanović over the previous 3 – 4 years.
Peter Hollis, the Managing Director of Kogitas, commented that:
“… I was really pleased when Matt accepted the role to be the Head of Delivery earlier in the year. We actually agreed the role just as the country was going into lockdown but even during that period of uncertainty it made sense to bring Matt onboard in order to continue to invest in the growth of the company. I believe his personality and leadership style will work well witin the company and I look forward to working with him as part of the leadership team.”
In his spare time, Matt likes to spend time with his family, play basketball, mountain bike and occasionally windsurf.
We are excited to have Matt with us and we wish him a warm welcome on behalf of the whole Kogitas team!
